Location: Traveling with The Paramour Cabaret
Start Date: Late February 2025

Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sound Technician to join The Paramour Cabaret team. This role requires a highly skilled individual who will play a key part in ensuring high-quality sound production for all performances under our big top tent. The Sound Technician will assist in the setup of the big top tent, manage the setup and operation of audio equipment, and ensure seamless sound execution during each show.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the physical setup of the big top tent, including securing relevant sound equipment.
  • Set up, test, and maintain all audio equipment including cabling, speakers, microphones, and the sound console.
  • EQ (equalize) all microphones and music tracks to achieve the best possible sound quality before each performance.
  • Lead sound checks to ensure all equipment is functioning properly and to troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  • Run all sound cues throughout the performances with precision, ensuring perfect timing and quality.
  • Collaborate with the director, performers, and stage crew to align on technical needs and production goals.
  • Conduct regular maintenance of audio equipment and report any technical issues promptly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace in the tech booth and storage areas.
  • Adhere to safety regulations during the setup, performance, and bumpout process.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Sound Technician or similar role in live performances or events.
  • Proficient in using sound consoles and various audio equipment.
  • Strong understanding of sound engineering principles, EQ, and acoustic balancing.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow cue sheets accurately.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.
  • Physical stamina to assist with tent setup and lifting equipment.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.

Compensation: $1200/week
